Carronade II - Popular series in a new design
Since 2016, the Carronade series, designed by Swedish designer Markus Johansson, has been a major success in our lamp collection. With its distinctive and playful design, the series has had a solid place in modern interiors. Now, we're excited to introduce Carronade II - a redesigned version that offers a significant price reduction while maintaining the same high standards of quality. The series remains proudly - and of course, still - Made in Denmark
A redesigned classic
The new Carronade II collection is launched with two models: a High floor lamp and a Small pendant. Both lamps are available in two sleek combinations: black oak/black and smoked oak/brass. These new designs carry the same visual expression as the original Carronade, but with a simpler and lighter material construction that offers a more modern and minimalist look. In particular, the black oak/black variant highlights this modern interpretation of the iconic design.
Functionality and elegance in perfect harmony
The Carronade II floor lamp has been redesigned and thoughtfully constructed with detachable legs, which makes the packaging significantly smaller and thereby makes shipping more efficient and better suited to the demands of both retail and online commerce. The new construction gives the frame a sleeker appearance, with the characteristic "cross" of the Carronade 360 model no longer necessary for achieving stability in the Carronade II 362 model.
The inspiration behind Carronade
The Carronade series, including the new Carronade II, is inspired by the concept of a table lamp designed to look like a small cannon with light. Markus Johansson, with his playful and challenging approach to design, has created a lamp that is not only functional but also an artistic statement. Carronade refers to a short, smoothbore cannon with a large caliber, developed by the Scottish iron foundry Carron Company in the late 18th century. And when you look at the lamp head, it’s easy to see where designer Markus Johansson drew his inspiration from.
