Softly Pleated - Design by Philip Bro

Elevating Our Timeless Craft

The Softly Pleated Collection reveals entirely new aspects of our well known craftsmanship. It is recpectful reinterpretation of our universe of hand-folded cross-pleats, now in an upscaled size and made from a durable felt material.

The pendants in this collection are, as with our classic lamps, pleated by hand. The felt material opens up new possibilities: its dense perforations create a uniquely soft light. At the same time, felt generally produces a warm, golden glow that helps create atmosphere and ambiance in any space.

The lamps in the series come in various sizes, making it a versatile lamp collection with a wide range of applications. Truly a universal lamp.

We also refer to it as “the round one” because the pleats are shaped from triangular segments that together form the round silhouette, also known from Kaare Klint’s iconic Model 101.

Behind the Design

Good things take time, and that may not be entirely wrong. Softly Pleated was first showcased at the "Snedkernes" Autumn Exhibition in Denmark in 2014, and in 2025 it is finally being launched as one of the year’s main highlights.

Designer Philip Bro Ludvigsen can also celebrate his 30th anniversary as a designer for Le Klint in 2025. A collaboration that began back in 1995 and has since produced many beautiful and commercially successful products.
