The lamp was designed by Andreas Hansen in 1965. Like many other lamps from this period, it received a nickname based on its design.
This lamp was named 'Konval' (Lily of the Valley). Like the flower, it is finely faceted and closed in shape. This avoids glare and expands its range of use.
Andreas Hansen trained at the Kunsthåndværkerskolen (the School of Arts and Crafts) and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' School of Furniture Design. He has since worked in furniture and industrial design. He has had his own design studio since 1963, designing furniture, lamps and home furnishings, mainly for businesses based in Denmark.Read more
