Andreas Hansen

Architect, 1936

Andreas Hansen trained at the Kunsthåndværkerskolen (the School of Arts and Crafts) and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' School of Furniture Design. He has since worked in furniture and industrial design.

He has had his own design studio since 1963, designing furniture, lamps and home furnishings, mainly for businesses based in Denmark.
At the beginning of his career, Andreas designed a series of new and inventive lampshades for Le Klint.

They featured sharp zigzag pleating that set them apart from the company's earlier models. Like the remainder of the range, Andreas Hansen's lamps are pleated by hand even though they are not the classic Le Klint pleats.

Andreas Hansen has designed many lamps that has enhanced the lines of Le Klints traditional lampshades.
